Southern Spain vacations are a great option for your next vacation. The south of Spain has mountains, beaches and everything in between, all with the distinct style and culture of Andalucia. Granada: One of the major cities in southern Spain, this destination has become popular for students and tourists alike. With tapas bars on almost every street, there are many great places to get some food and maybe watch some futbol. The city has a lot of clothing stores as well but some of the main attractions are El Albaicin, the old Moorish section of town and Alhambra, the amazing Muslim castle.
If the beach is more of your thing head down to one of many Costa Del Sol pueblos on the Mediterranean. These towns are all quiet beautiful and have great parties and festivals. They offer the best Spanish seafood and there are plenty of hotels, bars, and clubs in all of them. Nerja is one that stands out as a really scenic and special southern Spain coastal town.
In between Granada and the Costa Del Sol is the mountain pueblos of Las Alpujarras. These are fantastic white-washed towns situated on the hill sides and sometimes cliffs of the mountain ranges in southern Spain. Going for a hike through some of the old pathways is a great way to explore this area. Pass by old hillside farms and waterways and then return to the town to relax and get a drink.
